What is the First Tech Challenge?

The First Tech Challenge is an international competition dedicated to bringing robotics to high schools. Every year there is a new problem to solve. Each team must design and fabricate an efficient robot to fulfill complicated and precise tasks.

Inside FTC, there are different competitions. At the lowest level, there are local meets. This is where we compete against local schools in our immediate area throughout the season. This allows teams to see how viable their designs are, in addition to taking inspiration from other teams. After 2-4 meets per team, there are Leagues/Qualifying Tournaments, where the top teams move on to the state's competition. At states, teams compete against the best and brightest from across the states. Then, if a team gets past states they go on to Worlds, where the best teams from around the globe travel to Houston, and compete for the grandest title.
